Depression is characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a loss of interest or pleasure in activities. It affects how a person thinks, feels, and functions in daily life. Depression can look different for everyone and may not always be what you typically think. At times people with depression can also feel comforted by these thoughts and feelings; a connection to deeper feelings and sensations that they find difficult to navigate the world while they are experiencing.
